Starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard is leaving Philadelphia to join the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he shared a heartfelt farewell to the Phillies.

Noah Syndergaard, nicknamed ‘Thor,’ may be hitting the road to join the Los Angeles Dodgers next season, but he’s reminiscing on his time with the successful Philadelphia Phillies this past season as he goes.

“Those guys had an insane amount of talent, and I can honestly say I love those guys like brothers, and the clubhouse was treated as such,” Syndergaard said of #Phillies. “Lot of good dudes with really strong personalities that really meshed well, guys that just wanted to win.”

Syndergaard joined the team at, truly, the best time possible. While he was traded from the Los Angeles Angels and didn’t really have a choice, he got to be a part of the team that shocked all baseball fans by sneaking their way to the World Series.

He went to the World Series with the New York Mets in 2015, the beginning of his career, but hadn’t been since. The Phils are in an extremely competitive division, and the Mets and Atlanta Braves appeared to be top contenders in the NL East.

Philadelphia’s championship run was extremely unpredictable, and though they didn’t win the World Series, they had the feat of being one of the best underdog teams of the season.

While he’ll probably go on to have more success in Los Angeles, his time in Philadelphia certainly won’t be forgotten.

Noah Syndergaard had a great run with the Philadelphia Phillies

Syndergaard isn’t the best pitcher in the league, but he pulled it together extremely well this postseason in particular. He pitched four games this postseason, serving as both a starter and a closer, and produced an ERA of 1.80, batting average against of .109 and WHIP of 0.77.

He didn’t get to take home his first World Series championship, but he had the experience of a lifetime as the Phils thrived off the energy of the playoff experience. Fans cheered loud and proud for Philadelphia as they hadn’t been to the playoffs at all since 2011, and Syndergaard seems to know just how lucky he was to play with such a great team.

While he was only in Philadelphia for about half a season, it’ll undoubtedly be a time to remember.
