How Multifunctionality is Implemented in TickTrader Trading Platform

How Multifunctionality is Implemented in TickTrader Trading Platform

TickTrader, a trading platform from Soft-FX, a brokerage
software provider, was created as a multifunctional product.

    According to
Soft-FX representatives, TickTrader was designed with the needs of a wide range
of clients in mind — both experienced traders and investors and those who are
just starting their way in the market. Hence, the variety of functions of the
trading platform, which we discussed with Soft-FX staff.

    Client terminals

“We wanted the end clients to choose for themselves how they want to
interact with the platform, depending on their needs and skills,” the
    developers of Soft-FX commented.

Soft-FX currently offers four versions of
client terminals available across three popular platforms.

For instance, the main feature of TickTrader Web Terminal is that it
provides access to the trading platform from any device that can open a web
browser, without having to install any clients.

TickTrader Mobile Terminal provides access to Forex and exchange trading on-the-go
from iOS and Android devices and offers features demanded by ‘mobile’ traders,
    like the advanced alerting system.

The system helps you flexibly configure
various notification options, including time and receiving platforms.

TickTrader Desktop Terminal is the most advanced terminal with high-end
functionality and opens access to both marginal and exchange activity.

    The
developers emphasize that this terminal is perfect for experienced traders, as
it opens up the possibility to use expert advisors (or EA) and create custom
    indicators.

Desktop Terminal also allows users to test custom EA on historical
data and run them on client trading accounts.

    Trading accounts for different
    objectives

The developers specifically emphasize that the trading platform
supports both spot and exchange operations: “We also have developed special
account types for each operation mode”.

    Cash account type
is used for spot exchange operations.

For margin operations, or operations with
leverage, Net and Gross accounts are available.

Net account aggregates all positions opened on a financial
instrument are aggregated into one Net position.

    For Gross accounts, all
positions opened on a financial instrument are separate operations.

    Advanced and complex order
    types

In addition to common order types (market and pending orders, including
Stop, Limit, and Stop Limit orders), TickTrader Trading Platform also includes
advanced orders that allow experienced users to build more complex trading
strategies, like Good Till Cancel, Immediate or Cancel, or One Cancels the
    Other (OCO) orders.

We asked the developers to elaborate on the principle of Hidden
    order
, one of the most complex, which is presented on the platform.

“Hidden orders are not a full-fledged type of order, it is rather a feature,
but an important feature that traders can use as an advantage.

    If a trader
flags his order as hidden, other traders can’t see the order volume in the
    Depth of Market.

Hidden orders also have a subtype, the so-called Iceberg
order, when the Depth of Market displays only a certain proportion of the total
    order volume.”

    API kit

The kit of TickTrader Trading Platform application programming
interfaces allows developers to create customizable trading tools and
interfaces to use with the TickTrader trading server for no-terminal trading.

TickTrader Trading Platform API kit includes Web REST API, Sockets API, FIX
    API, SFX and Manager API.

“We made sure that our API kit provides access to a
whole range of popular operations, including transactions, secure server
connections, asset status monitoring, account balance operations, etc.,” the
    devs emphasized.

    Stock operation features

Soft-FX actively develops the area of stock operations in their
brokerage products, an example of which is the introduction of the Stock
    Events Module
for TickTrader platform: “This module allows configuring
stock operations on the trading platform depending on corporate actions that
occur at a particular point in time.

For example, actions like stock splits may create large gaps on the
chart, leading to a false impression of a sharp drop in the price. Based on the
chart, technical indicators would give misleading sell signals.”

According to the devs, the Stock Events module is designed to
counteract such occurrences: “It allows adjusting data by eliminating gaps
arising from events such as splits, dividends, and mergers and acquisitions,
enabling your platform to accept adjustments without negative consequences.”

    Algo trading options

TickTrader Algo Studio is an advanced platform feature that allows developing and running
    algorithmic trading systems.

As the developers describe it, “Algo Studio comes
with the preset of market-maker algorithms, which provide for administrators an
ability to manage price flow, liquidity, or pricing policies for derivative
instruments. TickTrader Trading Platform software package also includes a set
of trading bots and ready-made algorithmic trading systems ready for use by end
clients who want to use Expert Advisors help or create their own bots and run
    back testing.”

TickTrader Trading Platform is ready for brokerages and digital trading
    businesses to integrate.

Soft-FX representatives will elaborate on the
advantages of their trading platform for administrators and business owners. In
the meantime, you can learn more about the solution and ask all your questions
