    • The FTX saga will be turned in a book and a TV series, with a film also in the offing
    • Amazon has ordered and eight-part series while a book was already being written
    • Apple is thought to be leading the race to make a film of the book

The sensational collapse of FTX will be turned into a book and an Amazon TV series, both of which will detail the spectacular rise and fall of the company, while a film could also be in the offing. Famed financial author Michael Lewis was already working with FTX founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried on a book for six months before the exchange went bust, with the implosion of FTX making this a must-read when it is released. This has led to a fight over the film rights, leading to Apple and Amazon both becoming involved in separate deals.

Book and TV Series Already Commissioned

Lewis, author of The Big Short, spent six months with Bankman-Fried before FTX’s problems began, and once the exchange blew up in the way that it did, it was inevitable that a TV series or film was in the offing. Deadline reported on Tuesday that Apple was in pole position to secure the coveted film rights to the book, potentially beating off competition from the likes of Netflix and Amazon.

However, Deadline revealed yesterday that Amazon has signed a separate deal to turn the FTX story into an eight-part TV series, potentially leaving us in a situation similar to the Elizabeth Holmes Theranos story, where a documentary and a fictional retelling are both released.

Bankman-Fried May Not Make Anything Off Film and TV

The FTX story has captured the imagination of the crypto and non-crypto worlds alike, with the salacious stories of polyamory in the Bahamas office merely adding to the story of corporate mismanagement and disarray.

It is not known if Bankman-Fried himself will make any money out of the enterprise, other than the deal he would already have struck over the Lewis book.
