The 2022 FIFA World Cup continued Sunday with England defeating Senegal 3-0 at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar in the tournament’s fourth match of the round of 16.
With the win, England advances to face France in the quarterfinals on Friday (11 a.m. ET, FS1 and the FOX Sports app).
Senegal got some chances early, but never capitalized. That opened the door for England to take control of the match right before halftime with goals from Jordan Henderson and Harry Kane giving it a 2-0 lead at the break. Bukayo Saka added a third goal in the second half to finish off Senegal.

4′: Senegal gets some early pressure
Boulaye Dia was able to split a pair of English defenders but the entry pass to him in the box had just a bit too much on it, preventing Senegal from getting a shot.
22′: So close for Senegal
Ismaïla Sarr was so close to fully connecting on the cross, which would’ve given Senegal a 1-0 lead.
32′: Pickford picking up England
Senegal continued to pressure England in the first half, with Dia getting a shot off just a few yards in front of the net. But Jordan Pickford made the diving stop to keep the match scoreless.
38′: England goes on top
England was able to turn the tide, not only keeping Senegal off the board despite its pressures but also scoring a goal itself. Jordan Henderson got the right touch on a pass from Jude Bellingham to give the Three Lions a 1-0 lead.

45′ + 3′: England doubles up right before half
Harry Kane got a one-on-one opportunity on the attack right before halftime, and he capitalized, scoring on a strike at the top of the half to make it 2-0 England.
57′: Saka makes a good soccer play
Bukayo Saka got himself into the right place at the right time, getting into the center of the box to turn Phil Foden’s pass into a goal and make it 3-0 England.
